Samsung Galaxy A52 5G vs 4G: All You Need to Know

Recently Samsung has been releasing its phone in two versions the 5G version and the 4G version, unexceptionally its Galaxy A52 lineup. While the differences between Samsung Galaxy A32 5G and 4G are quite notable to maintain their market price range, Samsung took a different approach with its A52 as it appears that the 5G and 4G versions do not have many differences.

Let's take a look at the 3 slight differences between Samsung Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A52 4G

Note: the 4G version was officially named "Galaxy A52" but for the sake of this article, let's just call it Galaxy A52 4G

Processor

Chipset Qualcomm SM7225 Snapdragon 750G 5G (8 nm) Qualcomm SM7125 Snapdragon 720G (8 nm)
CPU Octa-core (2x2.2 GHz Kryo 570 & 6x1.8 GHz Kryo 570) Octa-core (2x2.3 GHz Kryo 465 Gold & 6x1.8 GHz Kryo 465 Silver)
GPU Adreno 619 Adreno 618

The first distinction between the 5G and 4G versions is the built-in SoC as the 5G version came with a Snapdragon 750G while the 4G version came with a Snapdragon 720G. However, the difference between them is actually not much as the 750G is basically the 5G version of 720G. Yet you may see a slight improvement for the 750G came with a better GPU as Adreno 619 offers a higher GPU clock speed and higher memory bandwidth than the Adreno 618.

Besides bringing a slightly better processor, the 5G version of Galaxy A52 offers a slightly better screen compared to its 4G counterpart. Although having virtually the same screen technology and size, the 5G version offers a higher refresh rate of 120hz compared to the 90hz that the 4G version has to offer. This is quite nice as 120hz of refresh rate offers a smoother experience while scrolling through the phone. However, you should note that this feature is limited during gaming as most games do not support ultra-high frame rates and not to mention the higher processing power needed to run games at much higher frame rates.

Storage and RAM

The last but not least distinction between the 5G and 4G versions of Galaxy A52 is the options available for the storage and RAM. Despite having a better processor and screen, the 5G version only came with 3 options of storage and RAM while the 4G version came with 5 options. This is a plus for the 4G version of Galaxy A52 as it offers more freedom when it comes to storage and RAM. However, you should be advised that the availability of storage and RAM option depends on each region and country.

Conclusion

Different from its lower-end counterpart, the two versions of the Samsung Galaxy A52 do not have much difference between them while the price gap between them is reasonable. While the Galaxy A52 5G is better in terms of processing power and screen frame rate, the Galaxy A42 4G has its own advantage of having more freedom in terms of storage and RAM.
